Mental Health and Wellness Counsellor
Hi, I’m Paniz. I’m a trauma-informed, 2SLGBTQ+ and neurodiversity friendly and equity-focused mental health worker who supports children, teens, and families in schools, community programs, and online. My role is practical and collaborative: I help you understand what’s going on, and together, we find the right supports, and build everyday skills that make life feel easier. I believe everyone deserves a space that feels safe, respectful, and judgment-free. What I do: Skill-building & coaching: gentle, concrete strategies for emotion regulation, routines, school success, and communication—especially for neurodivergent and disabled youth. Care navigation: from intake to referrals, I help you access services and keep everyone (caregivers, teachers, clinicians) on the same page. Safety support: I provide crisis support, check immediate safety, and co-create simple plans for next steps. How I work: Compassion first: we move at your pace and honour your goals. Evidence-informed: I use accessible tools from CBT/DBT, ABA-informed strategies where appropriate, and a strengths-based, harm-reduction lens. Inclusive & affirming: I’m gender-fluid and pansexual, and I prioritize safer, identity-affirming spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ folks, newcomers, and families facing barriers. A quick note on scope: I don’t diagnose or provide psychotherapy. If you’re looking for therapy, I can help you connect quickly with licensed clinicians and stay alongside you as a support and advocate. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck with school challenges, or not sure where to start, I’m here to listen and help you find the next doable step. :)
